The Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) is an attractive form of low-interest financing. IRBs are issued by local communities in any amount from $1 - $10 million (USD) for the construction of manufacturing facilities. While IRBs require complex contract documents, borrowers benefit from below-market interest rates.
Another attractive financing option is the taxable Industrial Development Bond. This financial instrument has a low interest rate and a maximum lending limit of $40 million (USD).
Some local development authorities provide additional financing for manufacturing investments based on the investment size, the number of jobs created and the tax revenue impact to the communities.
